The Instrumentation Industry Booms Rapidly in the Mobile Internet Era
With the in-depth implementation of national development strategies including industrialization, informatization, urbanization and agricultural modernization, strategic emerging industries are maintaining sound growth momentum. The industrial penetration and influence of extensive information and communication technologies will be further strengthened. Driven by deepening industrial integration and the popularization of mobile communication technologies, the mobile internet industry is witnessing rapid development.
As human society enters the era of knowledge-based economy and information technology advances at high speed, instrumentation and measurement & control technologies have been increasingly widely applied, creating favorable opportunities for the rapid growth of the instrumentation industry.
After nearly a decade of construction and development, China’s instrumentation industry has initially formed an industrial system with relatively complete product categories, certain production scale and independent R&D capabilities. China has become the second largest instrumentation manufacturer in Asia, second only to Japan.
The rapid development of the instrumentation industry can be attributed to two major factors.
First, the sustained and stable high-speed growth of the national economy. Historical data shows that when GDP growth exceeds 10%, the growth rate of the instrumentation industry ranges from 26% to 30%.
Second, the impact of national macro-control policies on the instrumentation industry features a time lag. Instruments and meters are usually delivered and put into use in the later stages of projects. Therefore, investment reductions caused by macro-control policies exert limited impact on the industry.
The consumption potential of mobile cellular networks continues to emerge, and consumers’ frequency and proportion of mobile consumption are increasing year by year. As the commercial value hidden in the mobile internet is further exploited, mobile online platforms for various traditional industries (including the instrumentation industry) have been launched one after another.
Driven by the explosive growth of the mobile internet, it has gradually replaced e-commerce and become the fastest-growing sector of the entire internet industry. Meanwhile, mobile terminal access has become a crucial battlefield for traditional industries. It is imperative for the instrumentation industry to embrace the mobile internet and achieve online development.
